NLCSA Designation Programs
Construction Safety Officer (CSO) Program
The CSO program is a health and safety designation program specifically for
individuals working in construction or construction related fields.
The program's primary goal is to expose you to the fundamentals of construction
safety management and build upon your personal field experience.
In achieving the CSO designation, you can provide valuable support to employers
in the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive health and safety program.
Successful participants can play a key leadership role in effective health and safety
management.
Project Safety Management Accreditation (PSMA) Program
Available to individuals from both the public and private sectors, this five-day
program deals with site-specific safety planning and is intended for project
managers, construction superintendents, engineers, architects, technicians, and
other individuals involved in contract administration. The first two days of the
program cover both Federal and Provincial health and safety OH&S legislation,
while the remaining three days focus on management of a site-specific health, safety,
and response program. To receive PSMA accreditation, an additional three days of
OH&S compliance training is required.
