PRIME
The Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association (NLCSA) and
the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission (the Commission) are working together to promote healthier and safer construction workplaces.
At the request of the construction industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, the Commission has approved the NLCSA's Certificate of Recognition (COR) program as the construction industry's standard under Part I of PRIME, the Commission's new employer incentive program. COR certified companies will now automatically qualify for a full refund under Part I of the Commission's PRIME program, with the first refunds to be issued in 2006 based on 2005 performance. Full COR requirements will be phased in over a three-year period, beginning now in 2005.
